10 things about... Punk

1. On the silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II, june 10, 1977, the punk band Sex Pistols tried to perform the song "God Save the Queen" from a boat just in front of the Palace of Westminster. 
The song was stuck as second on the "UK Singles Chart" because of the offensive and provocative content, although it was the biggest selling single in the UK.

2. Vivienne Westwood cowrote the lyrics of Sex Pistols's song "Who Killed Bambi" with Edward Tudor-Pole. This song appears on the soundtrack album "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle", which accompanied the Sex Pistols' mockumentary of the same name.

7. Punk visual art is characterized by deliberate violation, such as the use of letters cut out from newspapers and magazines, a device previously associated with kidnap and ransom notes. Much of the earlier artwork was in black and white, because it was distributed in punk zines reproduced at copy shops, colors were used in more expensive productions, often characterized by being high key, such as fluorescent pink and yellow contrasted with black on the cover of the Sex Pistols's "Never Mind the Bollocks", designed by Jamie Reid.

L'arte punk è caratterizzata da un'intenzionale trasgressività, come l'uso delle lettere ritagliate da giornali e riviste, uno "stile" precedentemente associato a rapimenti e lettere di riscatto. Gran parte delle prime opere era prodotta in bianco e nero, perché distribuite sulle punkzine stampate in copisteria, i colori venivano utilizzati per produzioni più costose, spesso ad alto contrasto, come ad esempio il rosa fluorescente ed il giallo contrapposti al nero sulla copertina dei Sex Pistols "Never Mind the Bollocks", disegnata da Jamie Reid.

8. Like any well-respected youth movement, even the punk has its "dance style": the "moshing" or "pogo". During which the "dancers" jump, run, push themselves, all according to a specific code of behavior: try to limit the damage.
